DESCRIPTION:
A series of maps that communicate the impact of urban development and displacement on the historically Black community of College Park in Raleigh, NC.
OBJECTIVE:
Utilize publically available data to create a narrative about change over time in College Park.
METHODS:
Data from the City of Raleigh and many other sources were assembled using various design, analysis, diagramming, and GIS software.
RESULTS:
Each map communicates information about Raleigh, NC at a different scale. The maps convey information about the county, the community, the city blocks, and the individuals as related to College Park and begin to associate place and people with the urban planning decisions and data that inevitably impact them over time.
